I would say that you're right, but... it's just an online manga, so don't take it to seriously ;-; But I'm glad that you commented <3 *hug*

This comic's delicious <3

Man, if I was in that cafeteria, I'd jump up and maul that guy from before D:< Doesn't matter how many friends he's got. I'd still beat him up.

Krindol, 03 Jul 2008 11:54 am

Why While I admire your sentiments ninja, wouldn't it be better to not meet violence with violence? Rather, confront the kid and ask him why he would do such a thing. When you fight someone, it sometimes reinforces what they believe, and they may even believe they are the ones who have been wronged, in this kid's case it would be delusional, but still.

Dark Mistress Of The Light, 04 Jul 2008 06:18 pm

@ Krindol I would agree... but i am a semi-violent person at heart and kind of follow ninja's idea... however I'd be sneaky about it and get him back by a lot of behind the scenes action. >:)

very cute.. hope to see more of like this.

Youth Looking back at when I was 16-17 years old, I would have had the same reaction. I was a lot more prone to violence then than I am now at age 21. I've seen a bit of real violence up close and personal though through my work (I'm a firefighter and a paramedic student) and so I really don't see the point to it now. But back in the day, yeah, it would have felt good to pound that kid.

I like this page because it looks to me as if her friend is seeing that there is or might be something there and is sort of giving some sort of acceptance or approval or something of this new thing that may begin. I don't know. I really like this.

violence with violence? Tough call Should the bully get trounced? Tough call. People like that, at that maturiety, the way they communicate (bullying) is the only language they can understand.

On one hand, violence will draw more violence out of the bully.

On the other hand, bullying will continue if they precieve the victim as weak.

Tough call. What should happen to the bully? I was reading a manga call LIFE. It's a tough read. It's about a girl who's getting bullied by other girls. She became a cutter. Also, she's being blackmail by anther student. Lastly, the girls bullying her, the main girl is trying to get her guys in on it. I bought the first issue at a book clearance...and read up to volume 12 (standing at Barns and Noble/Borders XD)

Here's my take on this, after having been bullied growing up: I would trounce the guy.

There is a threshhold to everyone, a limit, on what they can recieve. The question is to find the bully's threshold and reach it and go beyound it with self defence.

If Suika was some aikido and/or judo practicianer, she could trounce them (defend herself) without inflicting bodily harm, just humiliating them.

In that path, humiliating them will escolate the situation. They will want revenge... this is another dark path that the manga can go down, or not.

So, even -legitimately- defending one's seself (no physical violence inflicted onto the bully), will provolke a great reaction from the bully.

As I said above, bullies can only understand one language: violence (because they learned it from their parents, most likely). Even defending one's self is a violation (in the bullies' eyes).

I say inflict extreme humilation and violence onto the bully and break the will of the bully. Reach his threshold for emotional tolerance. Either the bully EVOLVE to be a nicer person or he rot in some juvie lock up or the hospital recovery unit.

Or... the plot could go like this: He goes on bullying... where one day, he has a "moment of clarity" (it's term used by recovering addicts when they reallize their situation after self reflection) while witnessing his mother (typically, his father) beating up the spouse or neigbor or does something mean, and the son (the bully) has his moment of clarity, refuses to be like his parent(s).

These useless people (bullies) will only grow up and fall into similar family roles. They will look for insecure girls to be in relationships with and bully them.
